Milford Federal Savings & Loan Association opens new
Whitinsville facility

Milford Federal Savings & Loan Association marked the official opening of its new Whitinsville branch with a ribbon-cutting and grand opening reception on Wednesday, June 20th. State Representative George N. Peterson, Jr., State Representative John V. Fernandes, Selectman Vice Chairman James R. Marzec, Selectman Charles Ampagoomian, Jr., Selectman John A. Davis, and Town Manager Theodore Kozak were in attendance as Cynthia A. Casey, Milford Federal President and CEO, cut the ribbon. “This major investment in this facility will provide all the modern amenities to better serve our current and future customers, while respecting and preserving the town’s history,” said Casey.

Milford Federal has had a strong presence in Whitinsville, serving the community for over 23 years. In February 1984, the bank opened a Loan Center at 1024 Providence Road, and in 1998 moved to 1219 Providence Road and began operations as a full-service branch. Milford Federal’s new facility will continue to offer mortgage and consumer loans, as well as various deposit, investment, and financial services. In addition, an area of the new building will be set aside for community use rooms which will be available to non-profit organizations.

“Building this facility reflects our commitment to and belief in the future growth of Whitinsville and the surrounding communities,” said Casey. “With this solid foundation, we believe our local staff, community involvement, and personalized service will allow us to become a permanent member of this community. We look forward to the continuation of fulfilling the true meaning of community banking.”

Established in 1887, Milford Federal Savings & Loan has been serving the needs of its neighbors and friends in the Greater Milford area, the Blackstone Valley, and Northern RI for 120 years. It operates through four conveniently located offices and can also be found on the Internet at www.milfordfederal.com.
